Having recently purchased a lovely plot of land in Mangawhai Heads, Gary & Liz Cameron had dreams of converting it into a Vineyard, Winery, Family Home and Bed & Breakfast. As if this wasn’t a big enough undertaking, they had to do all this while both living and working in Auckland.

What they needed was a designer and builder to help them. Fortunately, very good friends of theirs had recently built in Mangawhai too. Being perfectionists, they knew their recommendations of a ‘good builder’ had to be pretty good.

So they confidently contacted Homeworld Design & Build and asked for help with their project. Designer Rod Langdon was given a brief which he turned into a concept plan for the project.

“Rod captured all our requirements. We especially love the high raked ceiling in the central living area. Everyone who walks in says ‘Wow’ since it’s quite deceiving from the outside. The layout works really well.

Design is definitely a key thing. It was really nice to have the freedom to ask for specific design features such as a basement wine cellar, large storage pantry, even the winery! Rod made all our ideas work.”
